A Little Easter Partying and A Lot of Crawling!

We had a great first Easter with Lucy - Lucy officially became a crawler on Easter morning!  We gave Lucy her basket and had put some of the toys out, and then were not even paying attention when we saw her moving across the room.  Although it was a slow crawl...now that she has gotten the hang of it, it seems like that is all she wants to do!  So, in a few weeks I think I will be chasing her around the house!

We celebrated Easter with brunch with my family and as usual, there was a lot going on with the three girls all dressed up and running (or crawling) around!  Lucy got fun baskets from Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Katie and Aunt Beth, Rob and the girls.  With all the fun shoes, bubbles and toys - it was like Christmas all over for Lucy.  We ended the day with a walk to dinner on Division, our favorite way to end a weekend!

Unfortunately my camera didn't seem to download many of the photos I took - I had a great cousin shot, some shots with Grandma and Grandpa and tons of the girls with their baskets,  So sad they are gone!! but I am guessing my sister has a ton so I will steal a few!

Checking out my basket....

Bubbles!

Relaxing before the chaos begins

Aunt Katie, you shouldn't have!

Looking at the girls in their Easter dresses!!!!  They are pillowcase dresses and so adorable! I had many more shots of the girls all dressed up, sadly they seem to be lost.

Another Wonderful Week in AZ!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter!! We had a great first Easter with Lucy, which started with a nice long week in Arizona with Grandma Chris, Grandpa Bill, Aunt Jill, Uncle Jake, Aunt Pat and Aunt Kristy!  We had a great week, and a total of 777 pictures to prove it.  Although I wasn't behind the camera, I have been told that about 750 of them are of Lucy, of course :)  We did some hiking, some relaxing, some shopping, a lot of eating and ended the week with an Easter egg hunt and egg decorating.  Thank you Bill and Chris for such a wonderful, relaxing week!!!!

Just a few pics from the week!!!

Giggly

One word that sums up Lucy lately.

She is full of giggles all the time and it is my favorite moment(s) of the day.  She giggles at just about anything - Miles walking around, getting her diaper changed, when I blow into her hair (I know, strange, but when you find something that entertains them.....), or being carried in the Bjourn.  Yesterday, it melted my heart to hear Lucy giggling in the car - she was staring at the ceiling so I couldn't help but wonder what she must have been thinking about.  I am 99% sure she was thinking of her buddy Miles.  But, that, combined with the fact that I looked back into the mirror and saw a giant toothless smile, made my day!

In addition to being a giggly, happy-go-lucky baby, Lucy's personality is really starting to show.  She is a very independent baby.  She can be left in the daycare room at my work with anyone, and doesn't seem to notice that I am even gone :( But, I love her independence.  In our music class, when the teacher reads a book she will sit in the middle of the room, being attentive and acting like she is following along.  It cracks me up that she doesn't even notice I am not with her.

And, she is a focused little girl - she likes to stay on task which is a trait I think she got from me!  At breakfast, she likes to remove the Bumbo tray...I put it back on...and it is off again within seconds. Same with removing her hat in the car.  Before bed, she will pick the same book up and down, up and down, put it in her mouth, and back up and down and back in her mouth.  Some nights she works herself so much during our "reading time" that we need to start the bedtime routine over again :)

Lucy is up to a lot these days besides her classes and tagging along with me to the studio, lunches and lots of doggie walks.  She is crawling backwards, just learned how to clap and is eating all foods, including chicken. I think this week we are going to try tofu and eggs!

I know it has been a while since I last updated - I am horrible about sitting down at the computer now that the weather is getting nice!  But, we have been busy!! Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Joe visited last weekend to help us paint our house and Lucy got a lot of one-on-one time with Grandma while the boys worked and I somehow kept busy without picking up a paint brush until 4 pm! We also visited Grandma Grace to celebrate her birthday, and were spoiled with her delicious lunch of Joe's favorite foods. This week Grandma Chris came to visit and took Lucy to her music class and spent the day playing with her.  It was a wonderful, relaxing day!
I hate painters hats!

Finally, Monday, we are off to AZ for a nice, relaxing and WARM week!!!! I will have tons of updates from the week.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Cousins Weekend

This weekend was "cousins weekend" because the girls got to spend a lot of time together! Lucy had her first sleepover on Friday night at Beth and Rob's.  She was a good girl so I think they will invite her back. Yeah!!!  Saturday we continued the cousins weekend by meeting the Wennerstrom clan at Brookfield Zoo and then the girls came back to our house that evening for come Tarzan, cookie decorating and a lot of playing.  Again, Uncle Joe was the highlight!  I am not sure if I could do it without Joe there because Abigail wants to talk to Joe, sit by him and make sure he watches everything coming up on the cartoons because she knows it is going to be hysterical to both of them. Caitlin enjoys being on her own, exploring the house, and making us laugh.  I was the boring aunt trying to keep the blue icing off the ottoman!!!

Unfortunately, I did not take ONE good photo this entire weekend.  By looking at the below, one would never put together any of the above actually happened. I really need to make a point of taking interesting photos, but I am not a picture person so it doesn't come natural to me.  No animals at the zoo, no family photos, and there is always one of the girls looking another way in every cousin photo.  Oh well - it was much more eventful than it all looks.

And, Happy 7 Months to Lucy!!!  She had a long day and just wanted to lounge around during her 7 month shoot.

Attempting to get the girls together for a photo, but Caitlin and Lucy aren't having it

Another attempt.....of three kiddies in footie pajamas. How cute!

Decorating Easter cooking - yummy!!

We gave the girls lots of sugar before the car ride home

Lucy and Uncle Rob with her first souvenir from Brookfield Zoo - a new book. A gift from Uncle Rob!

Probably checking out the penguins at the zoo.  Next time, we will get a penguin in the photo!

The Wennerstroms enjoying the dolphins

Sorry for the boring post!!
