Lost Photos Revealed

I was finally able to download photos from our trip with Nana Chris and Papa Bill.  I wasn't behind the camera for much of the trip, so it was fun looking through them!  Just a few highlights from the week:

A family photo which we don't get enough of but tried on this trip!

Brunch with Winnie and Tigger - Lucy loved it!

And, just a sweet "Lucy" look

The animals were so close!

Dancing in Germany :)

Lucy's prized souvenir.  Her first "Barbie" (Snow White).  Snow White is her favorite princess and she walks around the house saying "I'm Wishing.." which is the start of her favorite Snow White song

And a favorite - Lucy was glued to the window before we got seated for brunch. She saw the characters inside :)

Trip with Nana and Papa (Part 1)

Well I have tried to download our photos from our trip with Chris and Bill to Disney a few times and my computer is not recognizing the photos. I consulted with my IT expert, Bill, and have another option to try, but as of now, I only have about 10 photos, most of Lucy not looking at the camera.  But, I thought I would upload of few.  From photos, it appears that we only went on a monorail ride while we were there.

We have a great few days in Florida - one of the highlights of our trip was a safari ride through Animal Kingdom.  It was beautiful, like going on a safari ride in Africa - much cheaper and easier than taking Lucy all the way there :)  We of course had lots of great meals - dinner at Animal Kingdom, dinner at Germany, brunch with Winnie the Pooh and his friends (pictures I would love to show if I can get them downloaded) and a bonus of traveling with family - Joe and I had two nights to go out for dinner dinner while Lucy stayed home with grandma and grandpa.

I will work on getting some of our photos onto the computer, for now just a few! You will notice Chris is holding Lucy in 3 of the 4. Lucy would only let "Nana" hold her the entire trip.  I missed her and would ask to hold her for a few minutes but then have to give her back.  Poor Chris! She did the same thing with my mom this weekend, so I think she knows who the softies are who will pick her up on demand.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! Joe was in California for a wedding and Lucy and I spent Saturday in Schaumburg with Nana Kathy and Papa Joe.  We then went to visit Nana Chris, and Lucy slept over there for 2 nights! It was so nice - I got to visit with friends at a BBQ, go to work, and try to fit in as much as possible over 2 days.  We went to Aunt Pat's for a BBQ Monday afternoon and reunited with daddy.  It was a great, relaxing weekend - I think for me only - but it was great.  Thanks Chris!

And, it is already Tuesday!
Love this smile!

Cruise Highlights

Amazing how long one week feels when you don't anything you HAVE to do.  We have been on a two-part family vacation that has felt like a month, when it was only last Monday we were taking off on our cruise.  After all-you-can-eat meals, a hostess to clean our room two times a day and people walking around with drinks at all hours of the day, we decided that cruising is the ultimate lazy-person's vacation.   And, we loved every minute of it.  We are pretty sure it was the best week of Lucy's short life too.

We did not know what to expect, but Disney does their cruises right.  There was the perfect combination of things to keep Lucy busy (and for all ages) and so much for Joe and mr.  Joe had some secret double life on the trip - he went out every night and made some friends.  He is such a Blandford.  I stayed in reading my book. I am such a Muskovich.  They had so much planned non-stop for kids - from the pools, to a theatre, to live shows, character meet-and-greets every day and lots of fun events, like Lucy's first tea party.    The food was amazing and, since we had two rooms, we put Lucy to bed every night and ordered in from the main restaurants so we could enjoy a nice, longer dinner together. It was so much fun and such a relaxing way to end each night.

We stopped at two ports - Nassau, where we visited the zoo and I did some shopping during naptime, and Castaway Cay, Disney's private and pretty much perfect island.  It was a gorgeous island and there was so much to do on it - we could have spent all day there if there wasn't a nap involved in our schedule.  And, they thought of everything to accommodate families on the island so it made a day trip seamless - there were even BOB strollers and wagons out for families when you got off the ship.

We had one full day at sea on our way back to Florida, which was just a relaxing day with no plans.  The weather wasn't great on the trip - it was either overcast or raining for most of the cruise - so we spent much of the day just exploring the boat and being together as a family. Joe and I did take advantage of the nursery for an hour so we could go to a fancier brunch sans Lucy that afternoon.  And, on Friday we headed to Orlando to meet Bill and Chris at Animal Kingdom, for the second part of our trip (separate post soon).

We have so many great memories from the cruise, but a few of our highlights...

...taking it all in the first day

...how much Lucy LOVED being on the balcony

....so much family time

...Castaway Cay

...lots of hours at the kiddie pool

...how much Lucy loved the shows every night.  Pretty sure she thinks the characters are real.

...lots of daddy time

....Lucy's first tea party - with apple juice and cookies

....bird kisses

...ice cream!

...wagon rides

...Lucy needing a buffer between her and a giant mouse, dog, etc.

...more smiles

...waving at the flamingos (and pretty much anyone all week!)

We are sad it is over, sad that Lucy will never be in the same stage on another family vacation.  We had so much fun listening to her talk, try to say so many new words, try so many new foods and try so many new things over the last week. We feel like she grew so much over just a week and are happy we had so much special time with her.

Happy Birthday Aunt Jill!!!

Happy Happy Birthday to my super fun, adventurous aunt Jill!!  I love all my one-on-one time with you in Arizona and can't wait for you to come to Chicago this summer.  And, once I prove next week that I am once again fun to fly with, maybe I will get to Colorado soon to see you.  Hope you have an amazing day!!   (You would think I could find a more recent photo of Jill and Lucy but I think they are always on someone else's camera....I will make a point in July to fill our camera with them).

An old, but so cute photo of the two!

Happy Birthday Jill!!! Love, Julie, Joe and Lucy

We are finally moving!!

Sorry I have been so slow to update lately, our camera has dust on it as I haven't been good at taking it out and the process of downloading and filing my phone photos takes longer so I usually put it off until a time like now, when Joe is at the Derby (at a 53-guy bachelor party...sounds like a quiet weekend) and Lucy is sleeping, and I have nothing better to do!

Lots of updates and changes to our lives - we finally sold our condo and bought a house, all in the same day!  After almost 2 months of multiple showings a week and two offers that we just couldn't accept, we started to feel like we would never be moving.  But, we ended up getting two offers on the same day, looked at our first choice house the next day, and just finalized both offers this afternoon.  Since Joe was at the Derby, our realtor and my friend got the privilege of working with me on all of it :)  Luckily we got pretty close to what we wanted on both ends.  So, if everything works with inspections, etc we will be officially moving at the end of June!  Our new house is in Roscoe Village on our same street, Wolcott.  Just a little further north!  We are very happy to have a little more space, some grass (maybe a 4x4 patch...but Lucy fits on it so who cares) and a place for all of Lucy's toys! More to come on the move.....

Some random and not very good pics of Lu from my phone.  But, I promise to have many more in the upcoming weeks with our vacation around the corner.  Lucy is up to a lot these days - the thing I am noticing the most (and amazed with the most) is her memory.  She remembers everything!  The other day Kate babysat and gave her orange juice and she woke up the next morning asking for "Katie" and "juice."  If we go somewhere and I ask her what we did, she will remember.  For example, we fed the ducks at the zoo some bread and if I bring up the zoo days later, she talks about feeding the ducks.  I love asking her questions and seeing what one word association comes up.  I also love her little sentences - most recently the constant "I want to watch the banjo song," which is an Elmo music video we have to watch at least once a day or her little 20 month life would be shattered.  I think I have about 1 month before she figures out how to work our DVD player which I just recently mastered, she is working diligently to figure out how she can do it herself. She tells us "I got it," "I want a snack" and lots of other sentences.  It is so cute and I love trying to decipher her chit-chat.

The weeks just seem to fly by, so we are looking forward to a relaxing family vacation next week.  I promise lots of pics (of Lucy and Joe, I try to stay away from the camera).

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

I took this pic to show Beth how cute this hand-me-down dress is!  This is right before Elmo Rocks got left at our new house
