Crawling is so yesterday!

We have a second walker in the family!  And, my arms are ready for the break after 11 months.  It is funny how quickly Leigh went from no steps - to many - over 24 hours.  Almost as if, while sleeping, she was working on her balance.  A few days ago we got a few official steps, yesterday, a stretch of 5 or so, and today she was walking while carrying a pack of wipes.  A little confident??  I have a video to post - not because I think everyone wants to see a baby take their first steps (don't we all do it eventually?) but I watch it and wish I could remember when walking took so much work/set-up and concentration.  One would think she was walking on ice from her wipe out at the end.  So sweet! Although she still seems so much more like a baby at 11 months than Lucy did to me (must be the lack of hair and no words yet), she is doing so many more "toddler things" (wah!)...starting to put toys into one another, open and close doors - and so much louder when she wants us to feed her! She has found her voice.

With the cold weather, the girls and I have had our share of time in the house and I know it seems like everyone is complaining about it, but I have actually enjoyed it.  Lucy and I have been working on random art projects (who knew how much stuff from the pantry could be glued onto construction paper and wonder if anyone else has timed how long it takes water to freeze?), we have had countless Frozen "shows" and Lucy has figured out how to build a fort and slide out of pillows.  She can play by herself with Winnie, Elsa and her scooter for hours on end.  And, I am shocked how creative she is with things she finds around the house - streamers, ribbon and some of our decorative branches become these fancy toys for her.  And Leigh is so sweet, she just usually wants to sit on my lap or eat.

There is nobody I would rather spend my day with than the girls -  so I am grateful for these long winter days as I know by the time summer gets here, I will be missing our puzzle-fests.

I never posted 10 month pic so now we get to see how much she has grown in just a month!

And happy birthday to both our dads - Feb 5th for Bill and today for my dad!!! Best part of the close birthdays is that I only had to take one picture of the girls since I only get a good joint photo about once a week!
