Brunch in the City!

My mom and sisters got us together to have a nice brunch in the city, something we don't do often without kids in tow, so it was a wonderful morning!!  They wanted to do something special before the baby arrives :)  Beth and I later made note of how much talking we did when we weren't chasing the kids around the restaurant and breaking up fights over who is holding Snow White or someone's My Little Pony.  And, they gave me the best gifts a tired mom could ask for - brightening eye cream and champagne!  And my mom got Baby B the sweetest little onesie from Janie and Jack that I can't wait to put her in.  That is what moms are for - buying clothes for my kids at stores that I am too cheap to shop in. Thanks mom and dad!!

Horribly dark photo but oh well!  We were there!

And, as I speak the guys (minus my responsible dad) are ending a long day of eating at drinking that started at 1 at Wingfest and ended around 10:00 pm at the Blackhawks game.  So, you think they would be happy to get home after that long day, but not the case!! They are at a bar in Bucktown known for "Tamale Guy" who walks around selling tamales out of his cooler.  And, their beer sold by the can.  A typical Sunday, right?!

Random Update of Weeks Past

It has been a few weeks since I have downloaded photos and I can barely remember what we have been up to the last few weeks - had to look back to the camera just to remember.  So I figured I would share a few random photos of Lucy before she has to share the blog with her little sister soon.  Really, I wish I could say this has been an exciting winter for us, but not being able to travel and being so pregnant, we have had a pretty low-key February.  Which I know I can't say the same for March, so I am fine with it.  But, next winter, I will definitely be boarding a plane to somewhere warm for a week :)

Valentine's Day 2013

We go to open swim at her swim school on Sunday nights - they have fun boats and cars in the water that Lucy LOVES

34 Weeks and Counting

Chris had been asking how big my bump was getting...it is big!  She is still sitting up pretty high and moving around a bit, which is a quick reminder to me that there is actually a tiny person in there who will be here in a few weeks.  Otherwise, I sometimes forget I am 9 months pregnant because by this point, it is so normal to look and feel so huge these days.  Not sure what I will do when I can finally wear a belt around my waist again!

I feel pretty organized, but I know there is still so much to do before she gets here.  I have a list in my head of projects for Joe to tackle over the next few weeks (putting pack N play together, hanging up black-out shades, fixing stroller.)  So, once I delegate my projects I will feel much better!  I should probably be spending less time at the computer shopping for a console table and more time putting together some of the baby necessities - like the pump still in a box.  But, I really need a console table for the baby's arrival too.

But, overall I feel great.  I think I am going to make it to 39 weeks with no problems - and hopefully under 150 lbs.

 Baby B at 36 weeks.

In other news, Lucy had pajama day at her school last week.  Must be a city-wide February event because Abigail and Caitlin had pajama day just a week ago.  She was so excited to bring Winnie the Pooh, her stuffie, to school.  They listened to books on tape, sang bedtime songs, etc.  And, getting ready in the morning is a lot easier when they can wear pjs!  Winnie got dunked in the sink by another boy which we talked about all day, but overall pj day was very eventful.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! We are voting for the Ravens for "Uncle Vern" tonight and celebrating Papa Bill's bday with some BBQ and cupcakes.
