And, she's off....

To another year of preschool!  Lucy started 3's preschool last week - and it is amazing how much she has grown from her first day in the 2's program.  Maybe because she went to her school over the summer, but she went in with such confidence and maybe there is something wrong with me, but I didn't even come close to shedding a tear or getting weepy.  I was just happy she was having so much fun on day 1.  This year the class will be taking field trips, Lucy will be working signing herself into class and writing her name, she will have class jobs, have two special days that one of us can come for the day, and she will be adding some enrichment programs - theatre class, science class and lunch bunch so she will be very busy at school.  Bigger class this year (18 kids!) = lots of new friends.
She has grown so much over the past year and the pics below prove it, since it is easy to forget!

In addition, Lucy and Leigh both had doctor appts over the past week so I thought I would post their numbers because I know I will never remember unless I refer back to this post.

Lucy's party recap

September has been busy so far - 3-year-old preschool, Lucy's birthday (last weekend already!), the start of dance and swimming classes.  Starting with Lucy's 3rd birthday party pics.  Thanks Bill and Chris for hosting such a great day for Lucy!  She of course was spoiled, and got to spend the morning on a special Goddaughter date with Beth and Rob at Build-a-Bear. So nice for her to have some one-on-one time with them - and we have a singing bear now :)  yeah!  Thanks for that!!!  Our house if overflowing with Rapunzel decorations, toys and apparel after the party....Lucy loves it all. I think 3 is going to be a great year. I think I say this every year because I have nothing to compare it to, but I think 3 is going to be my favorite age.

Congrats Kate and Vern!!!

Can't believe my little sister is getting married - in my mind she is still the little girl with the boy haircut. I think she always will be.  So excited for Kate and Vern.  I look back to when Joe and I first got engaged and all that happened in 5 short years.  I am excited for what the next 5 years - and beyond -will bring for them.  Congrats Kate and Vern!!!

We made it to 3!!!!

Happy 3rd birthday sweet girl.  We love you to pieces and can't believe it has only been 3 years!!  Seems like you have part of our lives for many, many more.  Some days, we are convinced you know we are still not quite sure what we are doing, as each new stage brings new challenges and you seem to know how to work the system better than any 3-year-old.  We love that you are so independent and constantly telling us that you are big and can do it yourself.  Today, you told me you will soon be big enough to drive yourself.  We love that you hang on to every detail and have taught us that if we say "maybe later" just to change the topic, it will come up again later along with a reminder of exactly how and when we said it.  We love that you show us you know wrong or right by asking us if you can do the "wrong things" - "Mommy, do we put our feet on the table" and that at bedtime you will fess up, like the other night as you were getting into bed you told me, "I touched the stove today." You know what you want, what you love, and are the queen on compromising.  If we say you can read one book, we know you will ask "how about 2?" You are funny, smart, sweet and have the biggest personality.  We are so proud of you and know Leigh will look up to you in so many ways.  

We think 3 is going to be a great year!!  But, wish you weren't getting so big so fast.
