We are starting to get settled into the new house - still have a folding table in our kitchen - but we are getting there with many trips to Target, Container Store and Home Depot. The neighbors are great (one family brought up pizza the first night and another family brought us cupcakes) and Lucy already spent an afternoon playing with the kids next door. There are a lot of kids on the street and the neighborhood is so close to everything - we can walk to some of Lucy's classes, the grocery store, the library, the pool, etc - so we feel very happy here.
Lucy took some time to get adjusted into the new home, or maybe from her various weekends being away from home before the move, or maybe she is just reaching "2" because we had a lot of tantrums the first week. She doesn't want to get dressed (wants to wear her easter dress every day).....wants to wear her cinderella pajamas out of the house.....doesn't want her hair pulled back....wants certain stuffed animals in her room and other out of her room at night....thinks she is stuck in her car seat and needs her arms freed....and thinks her clothes are all too tight on her. But, she is sweet as ever and we usually just laugh at how particular she is becoming.
We have an exciting week ahead - Jill and Jake are coming to stay with us for a few days!!! We are looking forward to spending some time with them and Lucy getting to see her aunt and uncle :)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Lu's early bday gift from the girls - a water table!!
Playing with the slide/pool - more fun than we would have thought in that little pool!
The girls - should have taken in front of our Flag, but up against our lovely wall
A pic of Lu in her new room - I love the cute walls. Can't take any credit for them as they were already painted, but she loves them and I love walking into her room every morning :)
Another pic
Most kids want a stuffed animal in bed but Lucy brings the most random things into bed, including her inflatable chair from Nana/Papa's house. I had to start hiding it. Same for her ceramic pig she used to bring in bed after we closed the door. Now, it is her toothbrush and playdough tubes.
